Creation as Currency: Reclaiming Joy as Abundance
What if abundance isn’t something you have to chase? What if it isn’t even something you have to earn? What if abundance is something you create simply by being in the flow of your own joy?
In the final class of Money As A Spirit Ally, we explored an idea that has changed the way we think about prosperity: Creation as Currency.
For many of us, the word “currency” immediately calls to mind money, transactions, and bank accounts. But at its root, currency means "a flow." Just like a current of water or a current of electricity, currency is about energy moving from one place to another.
And creation - your own act of bringing something new into the world - is one of the most powerful currents you can generate.
The Act of Creating Is Already Prosperity
In a world that measures value by productivity and financial success, it's easy to forget that creating something just because you love it is an act of wealth. Whether you're painting a canvas, writing a poem, cooking a nourishing meal, building a ritual, or supporting a friend with kind words, you are participating in the flow of life. You are shaping energy and allowing it to move through you.
That is abundance.
So often, we fall into the trap of thinking, "If it doesn't make money, it doesn't count." But in truth, money is only one form of energy exchange. Joy, satisfaction, connection, and personal growth are equally valuable currencies.
When you're in creative flow, you're not waiting for prosperity to find you - you are embodying it. Remember when you were a child and anytime there was blank paper and crayons or markers, you just HAD to make a picture? It was like something in you knew it was a part of being human to create.
Why We Resist Creating
Of course, many of us resist stepping into creative flow. Why? Because parts of us are afraid. We carry inner voices that whisper:
"What if it’s not good enough?"
"You’re wasting your time."
"This will never make you any money."
"Who do you think you are to create?"
These protective parts aren’t bad. They’ve often been trying to shield us from rejection, failure, or disappointment. But when they take control, they can keep us from the very joy that would heal us.
What if you could thank these parts for their care, but gently remind them: Creating is safe. Joy is allowed. And this is not about outcomes.
What if you allowed yourself to create for the simple reason that you are a creator by nature?
Creation Opens Doors You Can’t Predict
Here's the beautiful secret: when you create, you change your energy. And when your energy shifts, life responds.
Have you ever noticed that when you're in a state of joy or playfulness, opportunities seem to appear? Connections happen. Ideas flow. Money arrives in unexpected ways.
I know someone who started painting again after years of neglecting their art. Not because they expected to sell anything, but because their soul craved color and movement. What happened? Within months, their unrelated coaching business began to thrive. Clients said they felt something "different" in their presence. That's the power of creative energy.
Creation as Currency is not a straight line. You may not create a poem and find a paycheck in your mailbox the next day. But energy given returns multiplied. The act of creating opens the channel for all forms of abundance to reach you.
Small Acts Matter
Let me be clear: your creative act doesn’t have to be big. It doesn't have to be public. It doesn't even have to be shared.
Bake bread for yourself.
Write a prayer and tuck it in your journal.
Organize a closet and admire your handiwork.
Build a tiny altar to something you love.
Doodle while you sip your morning coffee.
Sing as you wash the dishes.
These are not meaningless. These are abundance rituals. Every time you create, you send a signal to the Universe: I am alive. I am receptive. I am in the flow.
Money Loves Flow
If you work with the spirit of Money (as I teach in my Money as a Spirit Ally course), you'll discover that Money loves when you’re in flow. Money doesn’t respond to striving, desperation, or self-punishment. Money responds to clarity, openness, and joyful receptivity.
By stepping into creative flow, you shift from chasing Money to attracting it.
You become a magnet for all forms of prosperity.
Creation as a Spiritual Practice
Creating is not just a practical act - it is a spiritual one. When you create, you join with the Great Creator, the Divine, the Source of all things. You become a vessel through which life expresses itself.
Whether you're painting, planting, writing, dancing, or simply arranging flowers on your kitchen table, you are saying yes to life.
And every yes to life is a yes to abundance.
What Will You Create?
So, I invite you: What will you create this week, not because it will make you money, but because it will make you more alive?
What small act of joy can you offer to the world as your currency of abundance?
Let your creativity be your first wealth.
And when the old voices rise up to tell you it's a waste of time, smile gently and whisper back, This, too, is prosperity.
Because it is.
